DeskVoice Privacy Policy
Effective September 2, 2026 · DeskVoice: AI Meeting Notes (iOS)
DeskVoice is built so that the most sensitive thing you give it — your voice — never leaves your device. This policy describes exactly what does and does not leave your iPhone.
What stays on your iPhone
Audio recordings are stored only on your device and are never uploaded anywhere. Transcription runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Transcripts, summaries, and your search index are stored on your device.
What is sent off your iPhone, and when
Only when you tap Summarize or ask a question in Ask, the transcript text of that recording is sent over an encrypted connection to our server (Google Cloud, us-central1), which forwards it to Google's Gemini model to generate the summary or answer. The transcript and the generated text are not stored on our servers — they are processed and returned, and only aggregate token counts are logged for billing.
What we retain
- An anonymous user ID (a random identifier created by Firebase; we never ask for your name, email, or any account).
- Usage counters — how many summaries and questions you have used this month, so free-tier limits and fair-use limits work.
- Subscription status — whether the anonymous ID has an active DeskVoice Pro subscription, processed through Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your payment details; Apple handles all billing.
What we never do
- No advertising, no ad networks, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of data with data brokers.
- No linking of your data across other companies' apps or websites.
Third parties
Apple processes payments for subscriptions. RevenueCat validates subscription status against the anonymous ID. Google Cloud / Firebase hosts our summary endpoint and stores the usage counters above. Google Gemini processes summary requests; per Google Cloud's terms, this data is not used to train models.
Data deletion
Deleting a recording in the app deletes its audio, transcript and summary from your device. Deleting the app deletes everything on-device. To have your server-side usage record (anonymous ID and counters) deleted, email us at the address below.
Children
DeskVoice is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
